Beverly Jane Kent of 305 6th Street, Winona Lake, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012, at 5 p.m. at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw, Indiana at the age of 82.
She was born on January 23, 1930, in Buena Park, California, to John Splawn Page and Eulah Nell (Bodine) Page. On August 1, 1953. she was married to Homer Austin Kent, Jr, who survives.
She attended Biola Bible Institute (Biola University) in La Mirada, California, where she received her degree in music. Beverly then was employed as a voice teacher at Grace College and Seminary of Winona Lake, Indiana, for 25 years. She was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, Winona Lake Literary Club, Grace College Faculty Women’s Club, and Women of Grace.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband: Homer Austin Kent (Winona Lake, Indiana); two daughters: Rebecca (husband Gary) Woolman (Fort Wayne, Indiana); Katherine (husband Mark) McCarthy (Columbus, Ohio); one son: Daniel (wife Lisa) Kent (Milton, Georgia); six Grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother: John S. Page (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho); and her sister: Virginia Rose (husband Norman) Rohrer (Franklin, Tennessee). She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister: Joanne Saffell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 20, 2012, from 3- 5 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
Her funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, 1200 Kings Highway, Winona Lake, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Bruce Barlow. A private family burial take place Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw, Indiana.
Memorial donations in Beverly’s name may be directed to Grace College and Seminary, 200 Seminary Drive, Winona Lake, Indiana 46590 and would be appreciated by her family.
