The board of directors of the Brethren Missionary Herald Co., Inc., parent organization of GraceConnect and BMH Books, met this week in Winona Lake, Ind.
Scott Feather, pastor of Gateway Church, a Grace Brethren congregation in Parkesburg, Pa., was welcomed as a new director. He, along with veteran board member, Dave Collins, a businessman from Ripon, Calif., had been approved for three year terms this fall by corporation members. (Corporation members are those who give $50 or more in a year to the organization and are affiliated with a Grace Brethren congregation.)
Led by chair Tim Sprinkle, pastor of Grace Church, Leesburg, Ind., the board spent considerable time evaluating the various platforms of the organization, including the media platforms of GraceConnect and the publishing program of BMH Books. They also heard reports from Liz Cutler Gates, executive director, reviewed financial involvements, and approved a budget for the coming year. Joining the meeting for some of the discussion was MariJean Sanders, editorial coordinator, and Bridget Fryman, operations assistant.
Also participating in the meeting were board members Bill Gordon, long-time Grace College professor from Winona Lake, Ind., Beau Stanley, training and spiritual growth pastor at Grace Polaris Church, Columbus, Ohio. Board members Daron Butler, next steps pastor at Grace Church, Wooster, Ohio, and Sarah Knepper, a teacher from Worthington, Ohio, were not able to attend this meeting.
