New pastor and new name to grace Grace Brethren
By BILL RYAN, Sentinel-Tribune Religion Editor
By God’s grace, there is a new minister serving Grace Brethren Church in Bowling Green. Rod Peebles is now the pastor of the church. Grace seems to be with Peebles as he graduated from Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana, and now serves Grace Church.
This week also marks the announcement the church will use the name Grace Church of Bowling Green with the sign in front indicating it remains a Brethren Church.
Peebles is originally from Michigan and had a successful 30-year career in the insurance business.
“In 2010 the Lord called us to full-time service,” Peebles said of both he and his wife, Cathie. “when the Lord calls, you answer.”
After his graduation from the seminary in 2014, the couple served Inter City Ministries in Toledo and continue an affiliation with the support of the congregation of Grace.
That ministry primarily is served by a church named That Neighborhood Church, and is one of the outreach programs through the Bowling Green church.
He again said the need to continue to serve that ministry is one of the Lord’s calls.
