Worthington Christian School (WCS) in Westerville, Ohio, is a ministry of Grace Polaris, a Grace Brethren congregation on the north side of Columbus, Ohio (Mike Yoder, lead pastor). As a part of their Forward Together campaign, WCS made a series of videos highlighting teachers and their perspective on Christian education. In the video below, Joel Walton, an English teacher at Worthington Christian School, reflects on the value of being a Christian teacher.
“It’s less about filling students up with useful information and more about making them into people of a certain kind. It’s in our mission statement — developing the mind of Christ,” he says. “When we train students in the mind of Christ, when we train them to bring light to darkness, they’re going to do that regardless of their profession.”
