Over 950 Students Attend Lake Adventure Days
More than 950 fourth grade students are learning about lakes and streams at the annual Lake Adventure Days this week! For many students, this is the first time they have ever seen a lake up close.
During each Lake Adventure Day, fourth-graders go to a local lake and get to go fishing, do water testing, build their own watersheds, compete in games to learn not to waste water and make a nature journal. All of these activities help students understand at a young age that their everyday actions can impact lakes and streams.
Grace College education students teach each lesson to attending fourth grade students as they rotate from activity to activity. This event helps in training and giving experience to the future generation of STEM educators and teachers.
