Dugger Community Schools Get Charter
Dugger Union and Grace College announced this evening that Grace College will be sponsoring Dugger Union schools as a charter. It’s something the community has been working for for a long time.
School Board President Kyle Foli said, “I feel like a mountain has been lifted off my shoulder.”
The community of Dugger breathed a sigh of relief Wednesday night at the news that Dugger schools will have a charter next year.
“We announced this evening our official board decision to officially be an authorizer as a charter school for Dugger Community School Corporation,” explained Tim Ziebarth, with Grace College.
The bleachers were packed with community members waiting to hear the fate of their schools. The announcement was met with big smiles and lots of applause.
“This has been two years struggling, fighting and clawing and scratching our way back to the top and we finally did it tonight,” said Foli.
Grace College is looking at a seven year contract with the school corporation.
