The Grace College School of Business is pleased to present the sixth annual Executive Forum, “Giving Back to the Community,” on Monday, Nov. 20, from 8 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center, 610 Wooster Rd., Winona Lake, Ind. Doors open at 8 a.m. for check-in and continental breakfast. Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased here.
Rep. Jim Banks, Indiana’s Third District Congressman and resident of Columbia City, Ind., will give the forum’s keynote address. Banks earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration from Grace College. He previously worked in the commercial construction and real estate industries and serves in the U.S. Navy Reserve as a supply corps officer.
“We believe that ‘Giving Back to the Community’ is a great theme to help executives and business leaders understand social consciousness,” said Al Grossnickle, associate professor of business at Grace College and director of the William P. Gordon Institute for Enterprise Development. “We’re excited to host Congressman Banks as our keynote speaker. He has a sincere interest in generating a strong workforce and vibrant communities in northeast Indiana. We look forward to hearing about his contributions and ideas to this end.”
Rich Haddad, president and CEO of the K12 Foundation in Warsaw, Ind., will moderate the forum. Four panelists will offer their unique perspective on community engagement: John Sampson, president and CEO of Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership; Suzanne Light, executive director of the Kosciusko County Community Foundation; Kelly Byrd, director of leadership and personal growth at Sweetwater Sound; and Steve Longbrake, director of business development at Silveus Insurance Group, Inc.
“Our hope is that participants will walk away with a better understanding of the importance of giving back, and how doing so improves their community,” Grossnickle added. “Forums like this one are part of being a good corporate citizen and using our resources and talent to enhance the lives of people and places around us.”
To make the Executive Forum a success, Grace College partnered with the Gordon Institute for Enterprise Development and the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce. The forum is sponsored by RSM US LLP, a leading national assurance, tax and consulting firm with locations including South Bend and Indianapolis.
