Spots are still available for students to attend next winter’s Kalahari Retreat in Sandusky, Ohio, in spite of a strong response the first day registrations were open. The retreat will be held January 5-7 at the Kalahari Resort.
Registration opened on Friday, September 29. Zack Pinkerton, director of the retreat and student ministries pastor at Grace Community Church, a Grace Brethren church in Fremont, Ohio, said, “Within the first five minutes we had approximately 2,256 people registered for the event. Last year we had around 2,600 people at the retreat.”
Last year’s attendance represents the number who can be housed at the Kalahari Resort for the weekend. Pinkerton reports that packages are also available where churches find their own housing. He estimates that with those who stay off-site, they could host up to 3,000 people.
Speakers have not yet been confirmed for the weekend. Worship will be led by the Liberty University student band, Liberty Worship Collective.
