Operation Barnabas tours for 2017 wound down this weekend as Team Hoosier concluded with leading programs at Legacy Church in Kendallville, Ind., and Team Atlantic finished at the Grace Brethren Church in Palmyra, Pa. Below are portions of their reports.
Team Hoosier Day 18: The Final Chapter
Well today Team Hoosier’s tour came to an end, but with a very good ending. Today we put on our final OB church service for Legacy Church of Kendallville, Indiana. It was a great service, and people were so encouraged by our students, that a new family decided to follow Jesus for the first time. Praise God! After the service we stopped to get lunch and headed over to the local park to enjoy a couple of hours with the people from the church. It was a great time to relax and enjoy each others’ company along with that of Legacy Church. After a long day, we prayed with all the staff and people from Legacy, said our goodbyes, and headed back to CE National.
Once arriving back at CE National, TK met with the students to begin the debriefing process and talked about how our tour went. After everything had been said and done, we had a special surprise for the students. For the first time in OB history we took our students to the movie theater to see Despicable Me 3. This was just a fun thing to do as a team before our final full day tomorrow, and the students had a great time.

Team Atlantic – Splashes to Splashes – July 8th
The end was near. The night was thick. Thicker than usual. Thick almost as a McDonald’s Triple Thick Shake. Before they were retired. But thinner than concrete mix. That stuff is impossible to sip through a straw. Admittedly, the unnamed Team Atlantic blog writer had very little to say about the day. He wrote this blog with minimal amount of effort.
Breakfast was this morning. It was a delightful spread of French Toast and sausage. Then, our students spent half an hour with Jesus. Sean McDowell spoke for two hours, and then our team heard from Amber Besson, children’s director at Urban Hope.
After lunch, Team Atlantic headed to Reading Terminal Market, a large global food market in Philadelphia. In case anyone was wondering, I got a grilled cheese. But more importantly, our students had discussions with people of many different backgrounds.
