Pastor Jim Brown from Goshen, Indiana (foreground left, with chainsaw), is leading a team of men from his church helping with Katrina cleanup in Mobile, Alabama. Here is his Thursday-morning report:
We had another great day serving here in Mobile, Alabama. We were dispatched to Gulf Dale subdivision and Bayou-LaBartre. I’ve never seen such devastation in my life.
Homes were blown off the foundations, clothes everywhere in the trees. We saw places where the storm surge was 30 feet. Boats piled on boats, cars overturned and people losing every physical thing they have ever owned.
Needless to say, we are being changed every day. We have many stories and we have overheated our chainsaws. We have really bonded and actually cut one tree down in six minutes, but we had nine chainsaws going at once.
Please continue to pray for us. We are overwhelmed by what you are doing on your end too. We love you guys!
