Penn Valley Community Fair in Telford contributes $20K to local nonprofits
With this year’s $20,500, the total amount the Penn Valley Community Fair has raised over five years for three local community organizations tops $100,000.
“Thank you for all you’re doing to help the people in the community,” Pastor Andrew Saunders, Penn Valley Church’s Telford campus interim pastor, told representatives of Keystone Opportunity Center, the Telford Volunteer Fire Company and the Indian Valley Public Library.
This was the fifth year the fair, which ran June 13 through 17, was held at Penn Valley’s Telford campus on Third Street.
“We believe we had higher attendance than ever,” Saunders said. “It seems to be gaining momentum.”
The church’s desire for the fair is to have it engage and bless the community, he said.
“We’re thankful that God has blessed it and it continues to grow each year,” he said.
The Telford Volunteer Fire Company and the Indian Valley Public Library have been recipients of money raised by the fair all five years. Keystone Opportunity Center has been for the last four years.
This year’s donation to Keystone was $14,500, bringing the total it has received from the fair to $61,400, the church said. The Telford Volunteer Fire Company received $4,000 this year, bringing its total to $22,900. The Indian Valley Public Library received $2,000 this year, bringing its total to $21,500.
The combined total received by the three is now $105,800.
“We’re grateful to Penn Valley Church for their support in our fundraising campaigns and for including us,” said Jerry Guretse, Telford Volunteer Fire Company’s president.
