A lecture on the reliability of Scripture will be held Thursday, February 5, at Grace College and Seminary, Winona Lake, Ind. Titled The Word of God, Living and Active, the lecture will feature Dr. Walter Kaiser, Jr., and Dr. John Davis, former president of the college. They will answer questions such as: Is the Bible a reliable document for faith and practice? Is the Bible trustworthy when it comes to historical, scientific, and literary evidence.
Dr. Kaiser is the Colman M. Mockler distinguished professor of Old Testament and president emeritus of Gordon-Conwell. He also served as the seminary’s president from 1997-2006.
The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. at Westminster Hall on the Grace campus. Following hors d’oeuvres in the Westminster Lobby, Dr. Kaiser will speak on the reliability of scripture from a textual perspective. at 7:30 p.m., Dr. Davis will speak on the reliability of scripture from an archaeological perspective. The lectures will be followed by an open question and answer time.
There is no charge for the event.
