Ronald L. Raber of 204 13th Street, Winona Lake, Indiana, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010, at 3:25 a.m. at his residence at the age of 53.
He was born on July 24, 1956, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late Louise (Stookey) Raber and Charles Leonard Raber, who survives. On July 30, 1977, he was married to Rhonda K. Graff, who survives.
Raber was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana, where he was an English professor at Grace College & Seminary, Winona Lake, Indiana. He also taught at IPFW, Bethel & St. Francis Colleges. He was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, Winona Lake, Indiana.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years Rhonda K. Raber (Winona Lake, Indiana); three daughters: Brandi (husband Tim) Wright (Winona Lake, Indiana); Nicole (husband Micah) Nightingale (Warsaw, Indiana); Brittney (husband Matt) Abernathy (Warsaw, Indiana); one son Nathanial (wife Kelly) Raber (Winona Lake, Indiana); and six grandchildren. Also surviving are his father Leonard Raber (Mishawaka, Indiana) and one sister: Linda (husband Rick) Wallace (Mishawaka, Indiana). He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, Indiana.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2010, at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, 1200 Kings Highway, Winona Lake, Indiana officiated by Pastors Bruce Barlow, John Teevan, and Charles Ashman. There will be a time for visitation an hour prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. and again after the memorial service until 6 p.m.
