When the summer Olympics kick off in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, next month, Rachel Fattal, a member of Grace Community Church, Seal Beach, Calif. (Steve Williams, senior pastor), will be there.
Rachel plays the position of attacker on the U.S. Women’s Water Polo team. She’s a recent graduate of U.C.L.A., where she earned a degree in history.
Rachel is not the first member of the Seal Beach congregation to go to the Olympics as part of a water polo team. In 2008, Tim Hutten, who also attends the church, was a member of the silver medal-winning U.S. Men’s Water Polo team at Bejing in 2008.
The games will be held Aug. 5-21. More than 10,500 athletes from 206 nations are expected to participate in 28 sports.
