Grace Brethren wins double-OT thriller to reach Div. 8 final
One year after being ineligible for the postseason and two years after having to forfeit a CIF championship game, the Grace Brethren High football team will play for a CIF title.
The Lancers let a second-half lead slip away before pulling out the win in the second overtime at second-seeded Silverado on Friday night.
Lontrelle Diggs punched in a 1-yard touchdown run in the second OT to lift third-seeded Grace Brethren to a dramatic 37-31 semifinal win and a berth in the Division 8 championship game.
Grace Brethren will play at Antelope Valley this Friday night at 7 for the championship. It will be the Lancers’ seventh section final in the last 19 years.
