My dear son,
That you keep your relationship with God fresh. Always striving to do good no matter the circumstances. Your priorities being God-1st, wife-2nd, sons and daughters-3rd, and people you minister next. They will learn by your relationships with God and family more than your preaching or teaching. Love your wife like Christ loved the church. She is your partner in ministry; treat her with respect knowing God uses her in your life to balance you out.
When you are with you sons and daughters they know you best, as well as your wife. Model for them how to be Holy and when you fail ask forgiveness. Know yourself and be yourself.
When you prepare to give a sermon or lesson or meet one on one with people ask God for words to speak and how to as well. You are representing the All Mighty God. Don’t EVER forget that.
Be a man of prayer always looking to grow and learn.
Teach others not to depend on you but to know the same Spirit that is in you is in them also. Build them to the Truth God’s word is always true. Let your people make mistakes they need you then to pick them up.
Make it your passion to preach and teach so that “we may present every man complete in Christ” Col. 1:28
Always remember to God be the glory not us. Go rightly divide the Word of truth you need the spirit of God to help you so listen to Him and enjoy the journey as you have the privilege to be used by God.
P.S. Remember “The joy of the Lord is our strength.” So be joyful.
