Dear son: I praised The Lord for everything He has done in my life and especially for His protection and love upon my family and me.
I pray for you every single day asking the same thing for you and your family. You know that God has created you and has called you with a very specific purpose. He has given you amazing spiritual gifts and talents and because of that I’m writing you this letter.
You have been my disciple and my son, you know how much I love you.
Christ has been entrusted with the most precious treasure in the world: The gospel, its meaning and the commission that Jesus himself asked you to accomplish.
With the help of the Holy Spirit and His direction, you must follow every single one of His desires. He is going to take you in places you have never even thought about; He would introduce you with the right people that are open for spiritual conversations, please let the Holy Spirit use you in order to introduce them to Christ.
You were enlisted in God’s army and you know that it is going to be difficult to be in that spiritual battle; besides that, you became one “high rank” commander in this army; therefore, don’t forget how to serve The Lord in the right order:
You became God’s son. Honor your father in everything you do
- You are married. That’s your first ministry. Try, respect and love your wife the way Your father, Her father want you to treat her
- You are a father. Your kids belong to God an in His providence they have been entrusted to you. One day you will be in front of Him and you might answer for the way you bring them into the knowledge and fear of God.
- You are a pastor. Great privilege God has given you, be the angel who protects the gray. Love them. Guide them and take care of them. Teach them the wonderful word of God,
In order to do everything I listed before, please remember to spend time in the study of His Word, do the devotionals, grow spiritually; don’t give your enemy a stronghold. He wants to destroy you, destroy your family and the congregation you are leading.
Dedicate time to find God’s will upon your life and your ministry, try to keep your testimony in a way that first of all God would know you are doing the best you possibly can, every day.
Don’t do anything that allows anyone to make you feel ashamed of the gospel.
Let yourself be strengthened from the grace found in Jesus Christ and also in God’s resources.
If you refuse to plug into God’s grace, then you are going to become self-sufficient and your own ego is going to win the fight against the humbleness you need to admit that you are a sinner that has to come back to God in order to look His power and His forgiveness every day.
Try to find reliable people to entrust the message of the Gospel, they will keep this message intact and will preserve its integrity. These people need to teach others and also they too will have to pass the message on to another generation.
My son, there is no way that you will be able to do everything you have to do without paying a price for it. There might be a willingness to take the difficult road, the road less traveled. The road most of the people don’t want to take.
To follow Jesus requires the kind of discipline and single mindedness that would take us to a kind of suffering, because it will mean saying no to certain thing to please God first.
Don’t lose your focus in Christ, keep on thinking about Jesus, Recall to your mind again and again and again who Jesus is, what He did for you and His present ministry in our lives.
Your testimony in good and even bad times is going to be helpful to bring others into God’s presence.
Please never give up. There are going to be times when you will feel that it’s no worthy to sacrifice you and your family the way they are doing it, but all you have to do in those cases is to remember. Remember everything The Lord has done for you and for your family and for the congregation your are serving.
If you remember then you are going to find enough reason for not to give up, to keep forward. It’s better to press on risking failure than to give up. Completing the faith does require our endurance, but this endurance relies on God’s faithfulness not our own.
Do your best to accomplish the great commission, let God uses you as an instrument to bring the nations to Him.
I love you brother and I will keep you in my prayers
Your brother;
Javier Forero
