Son,
It’s my joy to write you this letter. Soon I will be with Jesus. As sweet as our friendship and relationship has been I cannot wait to see Jesus face to face. I want you to long for that day as well. Remember, until we have numbered our days we can’t truly live our days. Live your days well.
Allow me one more time to remind you of my heart.
You can trust God. You can trust his heart. You can trust his character. You can trust that he is always working things out for his glory and your good.
Rest in who Jesus says you are. You are a new creation. You are seated with him. You are not condemned. You are loved and cherished.
Remember the small things. Do not let your heart become infatuated with bigger and better. If God gives you big things do them well in his power, but do not seek your own glory.
Say yes to the Lord no matter the consequences.
Remember what you have been saved from. Remember the grace of God. Remember the good news that first captivated your heart…that God, through Jesus, will not hold man’s sins against him if he will accept the work of Jesus on his behalf.
Cherish your wife. Honor her above all women. Love your children. Minister to them most passionately.
Never give up fighting. Always be alert. Your enemy is powerful, but he is defeated. Do not underestimate him, but do not fear him. Fear only the Lord.
Acknowledge God in everything you do. Big things. Small things. Acknowledge him and let him direct your paths.
Do not ever give up. Stay encouraged. Do not judge your life by only today. Remember you are running a marathon and not a sprint. Run well. Guard your heart above everything else.
Live thankful. Do not assume.
Play your part well. Jesus loves you. Live your life in response to that love. Remember that your momentary life is meaningful and powerful when lived surrendered to the savior.
I am proud of you. See you soon.
Tim
