Two congregations in the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches have recently evaluated their individual ministries and have made decisions that impact the future of their local churches.
In Reinholds, Pa., Bread of Life Fellowship Church has closed its doors. Dr. Rick Fairman, pastor of the group, is looking for a new ministry.
In Winona Lake, Ind., New Horizon Community Church (Scott Barger, pastor) has been evaluating its ministry. Over the last few weeks, they have had extended conversations about what is next for the church and will continue to talk about how to effectively reach their community with the gospel. Pastor Barger explained “what’s next” in a recent note, which may be read here.
On Sunday, September 28, the church will meet for the last time in its current format. They will gather at the Russell Center at CE National in Winona Lake for a carry-in dinner with time to reflect on some of the good things God has done through the work of New Horizon over the last 20 years.
Please be praying for both congregations and pastors as they contemplate next steps.
