A Grace College graduate and Lancer Hall of Fame inductee was featured in a news story on San Diego’s Fox 5. Margaret Mauzy, who played basketball, tennis, and softball before graduating from Grace in 1965, joined her sisters, Melody Anderson, and Naoma Clark, for a game of basketball — the first time the three athletes had ever been on the same team. Trio of senior sisters play first basketball game as teammates
SAN DIEGO- For the first time ever, three basketball-loving sisters took the court at the Mission Valley YMCA to play basketball.
San Diego-based attorney Melody Anderson, 58, plays for the Senior Women’s Basketball Association and organized a game of three-on-three with her sisters, 74-year-old Margaret Mauzy, who flew in from Indiana, and 76-year-old Naoma Clark, who lives in Tennessee. All three share a love of hoops.
Clark served two years as head basketball coach at Petersburg Elementary School in The Dalles, Oregon.
Mauzy was inducted into the Grace College Sports Hall of Fame in 2012 for lifelong contributions to women’s athletics, including basketball.
