Robert Lehigh (left), president of the board of Brethren Encyclopedia, Inc., yesterday presented Dr. William Eberly (right) of North Manchester, Indiana, with a plaque celebrating Eberly’s service since 1985 as editor of the Monograph Series for the board.
Eberly’s current project is a landmark translation from the German of Dr. Marcus Maier’s “The Schwarzenau Brethren” which contains significant original research on the origins of the Brethren movement in 1708.
Eberly will be succeeded in the editor’s position by Dr. Jeffrey Bach, who is Associate Professor of Church history at Bethany Theological Seminary and is the chair of the 300th anniversary committee of the Church of the Brethren.
All the monographs published by the board may be seen and purchased at www.brethrenencyclopedia.org.
