The Grace Community Church (a Grace Brethren church in Goshen, Ind., Jim Brown, pastor) campus in South Bend, Ind. is hosting a soccer camp at Boehm Park. Campus pastor Tim Boucher sends along this update:
We have had over 300 kids come to our camp. So far, 88 kids have made first-time decisions to follow Christ and another 22 have made decisions to walk closer to him! It has been an amazing camp…God is moving in incredible ways and it is cool to be involved in what he is doing!!!!
Pastor Tim is leading the camp with assistance from a youth ministry team from Wooster (Ohio) Grace Brethren Church.
They are serving in soccer camp, at Hope Rescue Mission (a homeless shelter); they served with our other campus in Goshen yesterday. They will be blitzing the community tomorrow at a gas station where they will be giving $5 back to people who purchase a tank of gas and then they will be distributing pop to people in downtown South Bend and other locations.
It has been an AWESOME week here! God is working in amazing ways.
Wes is a little guy that was brought to me that wanted to know Jesus. I wish you could see his eyes…they were huge as we talked about our Savior. I had the privilege of praying with Wes and knowing that the angels were rejoicing in heaven that he came to Jesus!
Pray for our follow up with these kids and pray that more come to know him in the next two days.
Special request…Katelyn is a little girl from the homeless shelter who is coming and her prayer request is for a mommy. Will you pray for this hurting girl? I have tears in my eyes right now thinking about this girl that does not have a mom. Pray that she rests in Jesus and that a woman comes into her life, who loves Jesus and will love her as a mom should.
