Dr. Homer A. Kent has just completed writing his 400th exposition of the Sunday school lesson for the King’s Business magazine. He plans to continue this ministry.
Excavation was started for the new Grace Seminary building (McClain Hall).
Forty Years Ago – 1970
Rev. Jesse B. Deloe, pastor of the North Riverdale (Ohio) Brethren Church, has announced that he has accepted the call to be pastor of the First Brethren Church, Whittier Calif.
The goal of $1,000 for the Christmas offering was shattered at the Grace Brethren Church of Hagerstown, Md. (Robert B. Collitt, pastor). An offering of $1,900 was received which will be used to erect three married-housing centers at the Bible Institute in Africa.
Twenty Years Ago – 1990
Grace Theological Seminary announced that its West Coast campus ministry will be phased out at the end of the current semester because of lack of enrollment.
Roy and Ruth Snyder recently had 59 Haitians in attendance at their outreach group from Grace Brethren Church of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where Dr. Herman Hoyt’s material on “Brethren Beliefs” is being translated into their native language.
