Grace College, Winona Lake, Ind., has announced a $5.5 million project to update Alpha Dining Hall.
Alpha Dining was dedicated in 1964 as a dorm and dining commons. For the last 57 years, Alpha has served us well as the main dining facility on campus. However, as the Grace community continues to grow, dining needs have changed. The current space lacks aesthetic appeal and space for all of the students to dine together; the kitchen equipment and ventilation need updating; and an increasing number of students have food allergies and sensitivities. Providing quality food and an enjoyable dining experience for current students and those to come is a high value for the Grace administration. Therefore, Alpha Dining needs a renovation that creates more space for students to dine, includes food stations that meet a variety of dietary needs, and incorporates an allergy-friendly prep space.
