Another report comes from Paul Mutcher, pastor the Lanham (Md.) Grace Brethren Church, on weekend events at Lanham Christian School. The school held its graduation ceremony over the weekend. (Members of the senior class were involved in a head-on crash on the fourth day of their senior trip trip to Florida in May.)
Lanham Christian School is rejoicing over a very special weekend. With all of our injured students at graduation, the 17 seniors dedicated their Praise and Testimony meeting and graduation to their chaperone, Ms. Veronica Coleman, and to Mrs. Kathy Brothers, widow of Timothy Brothers, the first man killed in the May 11 crash in Orlando, Fla. Mrs. Brothers and Timothy’s brother, Cricket and his wife Mary, determined to be present for this service and graduation, since God had obviously chosen Timothy to be the first impact, thus allowing our students to live.
Being a Christian school, LCS does not have a Baccalaureate speaker to address the students…rather, the 17 seniors gave praise and testimony to the 300+ audience. The class chose Pastor Tony Lee, also a chaperone on their trip, to be the graduation speaker. Speaking from Luke 2: 40, Pastor Lee addressed the seniors, then the audience, and then gave an invitation for those in the audience to trust Christ as Savior, concluding with an altar call. Four adults trusted Christ this day…including Kathy Brothers…Hallelujah!
I've tried to connect with you- but more imporatnatly I've been connecting with our FATHER and remembering you and the students and school family in prayer-
Praise God- a brother, I'm sure was awarded the good news ( in heaven ) of the salvation of four at the graduation-
Praise to our God- for He alone is faithful.
