Ann Olszewski, wife of Bud Olszewski, pastor of the Grace Brethren Church, Rittman, Ohio, has been honored with the Rittman Mayor’s Big Heart Award. The award was created by Mayor Bill Robertson in 2008 after the city motto, Rittman – a Small Town with a Big Heart, was adopted.
Ann is the school nurse for the Rittman Exempted Village School District. Below is the citation from the district’s website:
The Mayor’s Big Heart award is presented in Recognition of Exemplary Community Service. This award can be given to individuals, businesses, clubs or other organizations. Over the years Mayor Roberston has recognized 23 individuals and organizations with this award.
This year the Big Heart Award goes to a person who has worked for the Rittman Schools since September 26, 1994, and has had a tremendous positive impact on our community ever since….Ann Olszewski.
Ann is truly appreciated by more people than she will ever know. Ann has the heart of Christ; she is a servant in all aspects of her life.
She supports hundreds of people through her ministry here at school, in the church, in our Rittman community, in the Cancer community, and in her own family.
She is thoughtful, caring, devoted, and mindful of other people and their situations. She has chosen to serve humbly and behind the scenes, accomplishing more than most would ever imagine possible, and expecting nothing in return. We cannot think of a better recipient for the Big Heart award here in Rittman than Ann Olszewski.
