The Grace Community Church (a Grace Brethren church in Goshen, Ind., Jim Brown, pastor) campus in South Bend, Ind. has been hosting a soccer camp at Boehm Park all week. (See blog report from June 7.) Campus pastor Tim Boucher sends along another update with some photos:
We continue to be blown away at what God is doing at our soccer camp. We had another 20 kids give their lives to Christ last night…One quote was “My mom never prays and until this week I had never heard about Jesus.” YES! YES! YES! Or one boy thought “I didn’t need to ask Jesus to be in my heart, because it will take for ever and ever and ever to die.” I love kids…at one point in the camp one of the teams came to me and said their opposing team hadn’t come yet…AND IT WAS HALFTIME! So I went looking…I finally found the team still in their small group and their coach was BEAMING!!!! Six kids in his group came to Christ! PRAISE JESUS!
Please pray for these kids…many of them are going back to homes where their parents don’t talk about Jesus. Please pray that we will be able to connect with these kids…I so long for them to see the seeds that have taken root to go deep!
