ASHLAND – Elizabeth Griffith was outgoing, friendly and spent much of her time at her church and the Kroc Center, said the people who knew her Friday night.
A funeral service was held at Grace Brethren Church on West Main Street. A balloon launch followed the service by members of the Ashland community.
Griffith’s body was found Sept. 13 in a house on Covert Court, along with the body of Stacey Stanley. A third woman who called 911 was rescued by Ashland police after she said she was kidnapped by Shawn Grate, who was indicted Thursday by an Ashland County grand jury on 23 felony counts including aggravated murder.
Although the family asked media to leave the funeral service Friday night, friends and Ashland residents who didn’t even know Griffith organized a balloon launch outside.
