Katie Mueller, a member of the Winona Lake, Ind., Grace Brethren Church, has written her first children’s book, Bella’s Birthday Surprise. Based on a true experience with her older daughter, Bella, the book centers around a special gift at Bella’s first birthday party.
The book is illustrated by Cho Long McGowen, a Grace College graduate who worked as a photographer for the college and in the Korean program following graduation. Cho also happens to be Katie’s sister-in-law.
Published by AuthorHouse, the book is available at Amazon.com and other book retailers, including Tree of Life in Winona Lake, Ind. (next to the BMH offices). In addition, there are plans for an application for iPhones and iPads that will include an interactive link for kids to make the book into a puzzle, re-color the illustrations, or be read aloud to them.
