Last year, Barb Wooler and Judi Orme embarked on a cross-country trip on their bicycles to promote Hand-in-Hand Schools in Central African Republic. This year, they are doing it again — only on their motorcycles.
Barb, who is director of Crisis Response for Encompass World Partners, explains in a recent email to supporters:
It’s hard to believe that exactly a year ago today Judi and I (Barb Wooler) started our trek west to begin our bicycle ride across America! It was a truly life-changing event, although neither of us really know how to explain it.
One thing we do know is that we really want to revisit that route again, but this time we’ll do it via motorcycle.
Their cycles presently are packed and on their way to Seattle where they will fly out to join them up on July 27. The next day (July 28) they start our 2021 version of that ride.
While there are some differences between this ride and last year’s, the most important things remain the same:
- The purpose for which we are doing this is the same – to raise awareness of why Hand-in-Hand (HnH) orphan schools in the Central African Republic are a great way to help African kids.
- The route will be the same (more or less – find out more)
