By Jamie Hoffman
Lacey Baker received the 2008 NAC (Nurturing Abilities for Christ) scholarship in the Christian writing category at CE National’s Momentum Youth Conference last summer. The scholarship was given by the Brethren Missionary Herald Company in Winona Lake, Ind.
Baker wrote a poem, Seed of Promise, in honor of a former youth pastor’s wife, Megan Johnson, who had discipled her. She says the Lord really blessed her life through this woman. Baker wants to encourage people to be involved in others’ lives because she sees how important one person’s influence and impact can be on someone else’s life.
Baker lives in Garret, Pa., and attends the Grace Brethren Church in Meyersdale, Pa. She is studying nursing at Allegany College of Maryland in Cumberland.
