YIB (Your Intrepid Blogger) is at the Christian Booksellers Convention (recently renamed International Christian Retail Show) at the Denver Convention Center this week (more on that later).
In preparation for meeting the thousands of bookstore owners and buyers for store chains who may want to know our product better, we have produced our first trade catalog in many years (cover shown here).
Showcasing about 30 of BMH Books’ latest products, it will be followed by a general catalog which lists and pictures all of BMH Books’ products, now nearing 100 unique offerings.
The addition of the Whitcomb products and the Hiebert Commentaries, the republishing of classics and the aggressive acquisition of new authors are positioning BMH Books well in what is called the “long-tail” distribution system in which a steady stream of regular sellers (versus the one-hit wonder of a “superstar book”) is helping the company make a significant impact in the publishing world.(For more on this concept, see the recent Hyperion book by Chris Anderson entitled The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business is Selling Less of More).
Visit our products at www.bmhbooks.com (a revised website soon to appear), send to us or call BMH Books division manager John Leonard at 1-800-348-2756 to obtain a catalog, or–if you’re in the Denver area–stop by booth #653 between now and Thursday noon. Exhibits opened at 10 a.m. this morning (Monday).
More later from the exhibit floor.
