Momentum Ministry Partners awarded Grace Church, Town Center Campus in Kennesaw, Ga., the Breakthrough Church of the Year award.
In 2021 and during the heart of COVID, Grace Church, Town Center Campus had to add another service…and not because they needed to socially distance themselves, but because God was doing incredible work and they outgrew their space. Their church sits in the middle of a highly congested area with dozens of stores, restaurants, and businesses surrounding them. They are also only two miles from Kennesaw State University, which has almost 40,000 students enrolled. In 2021, Grace Church saw a major uptick in new families and college students.
Momentum Ministry Partners’ Director of Ministry, Eric Miller, talked with several new families who said the biggest reason they immediately felt at home was because of the welcoming community that was genuine, authentic, and had a strong commitment to Biblical and relevant teaching and worship. Pastor David Black told Eric that one of the biggest wins from day one of the church was the acquisition of the building, which was originally going to be a strip club and adult bookstore, which never opened even though the building had already been built out and outfitted for that purpose. Grace Church was able to buy the property from the bank and the community was delighted. They are now growing, casting a renewed vision for the future, seeing people commit their lives to Christ, engaging in serving, and diving deeper into discipleship relationships.
