Members of the Brethren Encyclopedia Board met at Ashland (OH) Seminary today for a spring meeting which included updates on publishing volume 4 of the encyclopedia, plans to publish additional Brethren-history monographs, and coordination of plans to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Brethren movement with tours and activities in Schwarzenau, Germany, in August of 2008.
At left is Dr. Dale Ulrich of Bridgewater College, who is completing the editing of Volume 4 that was left undone at the sudden death of Dr. Donald Durnbaugh. Fred Benedict, chair of the Encyclopedia Board, is at right, chairing the meeting. Dr. Dale Stoffer, Dean of Ashland Seminary and the board representative from The Brethren Church (Ashland), hosted the meeting.
The board is comprised of representatives of six Brethren groups which trace their common heritage back to Alexander Mack. Terry White of the Brethren Missionary Herald Company is the FGBC representative on the board. More information, and BE products available, may be seen at www.brethrenencyclopedia.org.
