For more than 10 years, the Brethren Missionary Herald Company has warehoused volumes of the Brethren Encyclopedia and have fulfilled orders on behalf of the Brethren Encyclopedia board.
Today, the end of that era is in sight as volunteers from BMH, Grace College, and the German Baptist Brethren descended upon the BMH offices to begin to retrieve the books from BMH’s basement warehouse. Many of the books are individually packaged, so it has involved delivering each book up the conveyer belt to volunteers outside the building who place them on pallets. Each pallet is wrapped and will be stored in the BMH garage.
Later this month, the books will be shipped to JPL Fulfillment in Grand Rapids, Mich., who has been warehousing books and fulfilling orders for BMH for the last year.
The Winona Lake, Ind., Grace Brethren Church, next door to BMH, is planning to buy the building and will use it for children’s ministries. BMH and the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches will retain offices in the building after the sale.
