The Class of 2007 at Grace Brethren High School in Simi Valley, Calif. goes against the norm when it comes to involvement. Read about their passion to serve in this June 9 story from the Ventura County Star:
The 47 graduates of Grace Brethren High know that compassion and commitment to community aren’t exactly in vogue with their peers and that’s the point.
“We talked about how our generation is characterized as the Whatever Generation,’ ” 2007 salutatorian Andrew Ruiz said just before Friday night’s commencement in Simi Valley’s Grace Brethren Church. “We kind of just want to go against that,” the 17-year-old said.
Grace Brethren Schools operates three private Christian campuses in Simi Valley, educating youths from preschool to 12th grade. Curriculum covers the usual subjects, with added Bible courses.
