A free seminar entitled “At Work on Purpose” featuring business consultant Chuck Proudfit (pictured) will be held at Westminster Hall on the Grace College campus in Winona Lake, Indiana, from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, September 30.
Open to all without charge, the seminar is being sponsored by the business and alumni departments of Grace College and by grace in ACTION usa.
Proudfit, who is from Cincinnati, Ohio, is the founder and president of a company called SkillSource which delivers business consulting, training, coaching, and networking services. He brands himself a “business builder.”
Proudfit founded his first business, Chuck’s Custom Car Cleaning, when he was just 16 years old. Later, as a Harvard undergraduate, he founded Personal Processing, Inc. to print and edit fellow students’ papers—he later sold it to the university to become part of its student services department.
He later worked in a number of larger businesses, learning product distribution at Gallo Winery, consumer product manufacturing and marketing at Procter & Gamble, and retail sales at Lenscrafters. He is a prominent player in the Greater Cincinnati’s business community, holds a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and is the father of two children adopted from South Korea.
After his conversion, Proudfit found an emptiness in success and as he puts it, “I wanted to make difference….not just make a dollar.” From that desire came a vision to help Christians live out their faith in the marketplace. The AT WORK On Purpose seminars, luncheons, and business prayer groups are the result of that vision.
He, along with associate Jeff Greer, has since developed what they term Biznistries* ~ a way for businesses to fund ministries. Greer and Proudfit have seen successful “biznistries” from Cincinnati to Africa. Greer will also speak at the seminar.
In addition to the Saturday seminar, Proudfit will also speak to the annual Business Alumni Luncheon on Friday and the Men Following Christ breakfast at 8:00 am, Saturday.
Seminar registration will begin at 9:00 AM in Westminster Hall. Local vendors will host tables and a continental breakfast will be available during registration.
