Hispanic church planter and pastor Oscar Chavez, whose church in the Lancaster, California, area was welcomed into the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches at the Equip05 national conference this past summer, sends the following report of the birth of a daughter church. Jesus Munoz directs Hispanic church planting efforts for the FGBC.
These are the pictures from our second service in the new location where our church (“La Cosecha,” “The Harvest”) is meeting in Lancaster California. The location is at Central Christian Church of Lancaster where the elders of this church are a committee to pray and help our church fulfill the purpose God has for us.
They are letting us use their buildings, their land where we have placed a Modular, electricity, and water–all on them. That is the work of God. Three of these elders prayed for us last Sunday to show their support.
In our first service on November 20, we had 183 people, adults and kids. Our second service we had 90 adults only, and we could not keep track of kids that day but they were more than the adults in number.
Please pass the word and pray for our Spanish Grace Brethren Church in Lancaster California.
God is blessing the ministry, and we are getting ready to start helping the Grace Brethren Church of Norwalk to start their Spanish ministry the third week of January. Please pray for this.
