Jesús Muñoz, director of Ethnic Ministries for Encompass World Partners, has passed along a report from Dumont Cardichon, Grace Brethren church planter among the Haitians in the U.S., Haiti, and the Bahamas. Continue to pray for those affected by Hurricane Matthew.
I just got this report from Dumont Cardichon about our churches in Haiti.

Pray for our churches in the Bahamas as the hurricane is heading in that direction now.
Update
Here’s a report Wednesday afternoon from Chuck Davis, executive director of Caribbean Vision Ministries:
Thanks for praying for the people of Haiti. Though all the news isn’t in yet it looks like Haiti was spared from the fury of Matthew in many ways. Please continue to pray for the people in Haiti and those who were affected the most in the South and West of Haiti.
Cap Haitien suffered very little from the storm according to the reports we have received so far but reports are often slow from Haiti. The kids from the House of Hope Orphanage who have been staying in our facility at Grace Theological Institute were returning home today. The report is that there was not a large amount of rain or wind. We are thankful for that report.
However we do have some churches along the Dominican Republic border and further South in Las Cahobas, Haiti. Pastor Daniel Cardichon is the leader of these churches. He is the brother of Pastor Dumont Cardichon, whom many of you may know. The lead church pastored by Pastor Daniel suffered a total roof collapse. This is a major loss as they are a mother church to six other churches in the area.
Of the other churches in this group four of them were totally destroyed and two others lost their roofs. All these churches are located in the mountains among very poor people. This is a major loss for all them as it took huge efforts by all of them to even have their small churches in which to worship and fellowship. If you could visit the areas where they live and see the beauty that surrounds them even in extreme poverty you would marvel. We do not have a report yet as to the safety of all the people in the area.
Once we evaluate the circumstances and the needs of all these churches and the people we will inform you as to how we can best help them. In the meantime please pray for the folks in the Las Cahobas area and pray how God might use you to minister to them.
