Today’s CE News reports that a new bus to be used in the Operation Barnabas discipleship ministry has been delivered. Dubbed Bus #40 (for the 40th anniversary of OB), it will be used in 2014 for the summer ministry. Read the complete story here.
Perhaps the most enduring symbols of Operation Barnabas would have to be a blue bus. It is “home” to each OB team that goes out each summer. Not merely a means of transportation, it is a place to rest, regroup, and refocus… (And you know you have a busy summer when you consider a bus a place to rest…!) But the blue bus becomes “home” unlike any other place for OB students and their leaders.
CE National and the Operation Barnabas program is blessed to have been given a bus this summer by the Groff family from Lititz, Pennsylvania. In the bus transportation business, the Groff’s have worked with OB in supplying vehicles in the past and their generous gift gets another safe, reliable vehicle in the OB fleet.
We are very grateful for the Lord’s blessings on these vehicles. Since moving to diesel engine buses in 1996, there has only been one day of ministry lost due to a vehicle problem. While money and energy have been put in each year to keep these ministry tools safely operating, to have consistent transportation has been a blessing.
