The Chambersburg (PA) Public Opinion newspaper today has a wrapup article featuring several churches which have a non-traditional, more contemporary style of worship. One of those featured is affiliated with the Grace Brethren Church. Here is an excerpt–to read the full article click here.
Solid Rock Community Church meets in a former office suite at 338 Lincoln Way East. Affiliated with Grace Brethren Church on Edwards Avenue, the church started in a home, then met in a basement office complex on Wolf Avenue. The church was planted to attract unchurched people who normally wouldn’t attend a traditional church.
“We’re more casual in dress and worship is less formal,” said Pastor Keith Bowers, its worship leader, who added the church offers contemporary style worship services. Grace Brethren Church helps support the church.
About 30 to 50 people attend the worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sundays. Family night, 7 p.m. Wednesdays, offers adult Bible study, a teen class for 13 to 18-year-olds and the Kid’s Club for ages 4 to 12.
