Chuck and Sandy Cheek moved to Goshen in 1966 after he graduated from Grace College and (head football coach) “Joe Springer needed a football coach,” Chuck explained.
Chuck stayed at the Towncrest Junior High (now Goshen Middle School) and taught history, some geography and English for 36 1/2 years.
“I really enjoyed teaching at Goshen. It was fun,” he said.
Chuck, who is part native American, grew up at Aleppo, Pa., just over the hill from the small village where Sandy grew up. They married in 1963 and moved here to attend Grace College.
Chuck went on to earn his master’s degree at St. Francis College, Fort Wayne, in 1970.
Sandy has been busy for the past 41 years in the Tupperware business. She has conducted parties across southern Michigan, northern Indiana and even in Pennsylvania, when returning to visit relatives there.
