Grow New England, the Charis Fellowship church-planting ministry based in the Boston, Mass., area, recently sent an update. It is included below.
In 2018 we will be increasing our ministry to the men of our congregation (in Essex, Mass.). A new men’s fellowship will start on January 13. We will be studying the character of Jesus and how we can be more like Christ. We are also looking forward to the continued training of men for leadership in our local churches. Lastly, we hope to provide more times for the guys to hangout and bring their unsaved friends.
In our Danvers church we will be starting a ministry called M-I-X on the fourth Tuesday of the month. M-I-X stands for Meet, Interact, eXplore. What’s it all about? It’s about MIXING people of different backgrounds, beliefs, and views together in a lively discussion around a short reading (like a book club without the book for those of us who do not have time to read a book). It’s about taking time to meet new friends. It’s about coffee, tea and food. It’s about a safe place to explore new ideas and to share your thoughts and opinions. It’s about engaging in lively, respectful discussion. It’s about a night out! It’s about meeting people!
In 2018 we hope to add two men to our team in New England.
It is exciting to be a part of what God is doing in this region. I want to thank you for your partnership. I also want to ask you to prayerfully consider how you can be involved in the ministry of church planting in New England.
