Kevin and Siew-Choo Ong (pictured here with their three boys), career missionaries with Grace Brethren North American Missions in San Francisco, continue to renovate and utilize a large “International House” as a means of witness in that city. Here is a recent report from Kevin on some of the ways other churches have helped in preparing IH for ministry. For regular updates on their ministry, go to www.gbnam.org and click on “San Francisco.”
In April, Jackie from Auburn Grace Community Church offered to help us produce a DVD to highlight the needs of the IH, in terms of the cost and what needs to be done. We received more than $22,000, out of which $20,000 came from a small Grace Brethren church in Iowa.
Becca from Sacramento gave us ten sets of bed-sheets and four study lamps.
The Cornerstone Church in San Francisco sent a crew of 14 people to lay hardwood floor, paint and do the electrical work in the kitchen.
Pastor Phil and youth pastor Steve from Auburn Grace came with a team of 28 people to help us during the spring break. Matt, the youth pastor from Ripon Grace Brethren Church came with the youth group, and Pastor Joel from La Loma Grace Brethren Church came with 16 people on another weekend to work on the IH.
How can we ever thank these folks enough and many others whom we do not have the space to include? Thank you from the bottom of our hearts in making the IH a Kingdom project!
