There’s an old hymn that I think describes the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches:
Blest be the tie that bind
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like to that above.
In the inaugural issue of GraceConnect magazine, I write about this hymn that was penned by John Fawcett after he decided to stay in a small church where he valued the relationships, rather than move to a position with a larger congregation in the city. This traditional song describes what I’ve heard so many of my contemporaries say about the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches (FGBC) – the relationships, the Christian love, is one thing that keeps us together.
GraceConnect, the new magazine for the people of the FGBC, is now in the mail. A pdf copy of the magazine is available here.
GraceConnect magazine is part of a larger initiative to build bridges of communication within the FGBC. You’ll find the content from this issue of the magazine used on the graceconnect.us website over the next few weeks. Those stories will also be fed to the GraceConnect page on Facebook (facebook.com/graceconnectus) and on Twitter (@graceconnectus).
Please don’t hesitate to link your own church webpage to any of these sites so that you have current information about what is happening in the FGBC. (In fact, you might want to check existing links to be sure graceconnect.us is properly connected. If you had been linked to the old BMH Editor’s Blog (fgbcworld-blog.com), it should automatically open, but it is better to have it directly linked.
