Interested in knowing how to effectively use social media techniques to tell your congregation’s story? Then check out Connecting Through Communications, a workshop sponsored by the Brethren Missionary Herald Company and held Saturday, July 23, prior to the national conference of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches. Media that Moves!
Video and animated images are being used effectively to communicate the messages of the Bible. Whether you want to enhance your worship service, capture life-changing testimonies, add visual and compelling video to your website, or supplement a teaching, sermon, or lesson….video is a great way to teach, entertain, and move audiences in a way that other mediums can’t. Whether you are currently involved in media at your church or you would just like to learn more, we want to help. We will talk about ways to use media in your church and ways we can collaborate on news videos for the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches. Guided by Kate Ward of Draw Productions.
Social Networking 101
Get Up to Speed So You Can Be a Part of the Online Conversation at the Conference!
Join us to learn Twitter, Facebook, and other social media strategies. It will help you follow (and participate in) the backdrop conversation at conference. Learn to send your own tweets and updates from the sessions you attend and hear what others are saying about the events of the week. Plus, you’ll learn methods you can apply in your own ministry. Led by Liz Cutler Gates, executive director of the Brethren Missionary Herald Company and editor of FGBC World.
Writing as a Ministry
God chose the written word as His way to reveal Himself to mankind, and has used writing throughout history to challenge, encourage, and lead people to Himself. Writing is great stewardship—over time and over space—and has the power to change lives. Topics will include how to use writing to assist the ministry of the local church and feedback from real-life readers whose lives have been challenged, altered, and drawn to the Lord through the printed page. Presenter will be Terry White, author, editor, journalism educator, and publisher of BMH Books.
