This update on Matthew Brown comes from his dad, Pastor Jack Brown, of the North Shore Bible Church, a Grace Brethren congregation in Essex, Mass. Matthew is in the Cardiac Care Unit in Burlington, Mass. (See Urgent Prayer Request for Matthew Brown.)
Here’s the latest on Matthew’s condition. Matthew is under heavy sedation (essentially a medically induced coma). He is on a ventilator, giving his heart some rest. The goal over the next several days is to wean Matt off the ventilator trying to balance the ability of his heart with the needs of his lungs (this will be done with the assistance of medication). It is important that Matt get off the ventilator so the doctors can determine why Matt’s heart is so weak and how they might be able to address this weakness. Christine and I are very grateful for the love and encouragement we have received from so many of you. Thank you for praying for Matthew and our family.
We are trusting God as we walk along this journey… we don’t know the outcome but we do know that God’s will, will be done and it will be for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Consider Romans 8:28-29 and Colossians 3:16-17.
Keep praying!!
Thursday April 11, 2013 Update on Matthew Brown:
The blood pressures meds have been eliminated, so far so good. Sedation medication has been decreased, so Matt is a little bit more alert… the doctors are hoping to remove the ventilator on Friday or Saturday. This is an essential next step… PLEASE PRAY!!
