Continue to pray for the people of Haiti and particularly the Grace Brethren ministries there. Here’s an update from Caribbean Vision Ministries (Chuck Davis, executive director) which was sent Tuesday evening.
Our staff has talked to those in Cap Hatien, Las Cahobas, and Port Au Prince. This is what we know as of 4:45PM Central Time today. All the kids at House of Hope are at Grace Theological Institute in Cap Haitien and are safe and having their needs met. There is a lot of rain and typical runoff at that site. The winds are not too bad at this time (whatever that means). The House of Hope property will probably see some flooding but we do not know the extent at this time.
Pastor Daniel Cardichon reports that in Port Au Prince there is a lot of rain and wind but no assessment of damages at this point. His church in Las Cahobas, which had suffered wind damage to the roof from a previous storm will probably finish collapsing and the entire roof will probably need replaced. This church is critical as a mother church to six other mountain churches in the area. And it is very possible those churches may suffer damage as well. Pastor Eddie Bazin in Port Au Prince, whom many of you know, reports no damage at this time.
We have many church plants in the Cap Haitien area but we have no information on them at this time. Please continue to pray for everyone in Haiti and especially those you know personally. We will update you as we receive new information. Please share this email as a prayer request to those you know.
