Equip07, the national conference of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches, will be held July 29 through August 3 in Winona Lake, Ind. Designed as a training conference for men and women who provide leadership in local churches, more than 30 classes will offer practical biblical training across a wide spectrum of ministry needs. The conference will provide quality teaching for pastors and laymen. Sessions will focus on “The Pursuit of Wisdom” with learning viewed as a lifelong journey. Equip07 is a one-of-a-kind continuing education conference for the whole family. There will be something for everyone, including an affordable “Senior Menu” and sports, arts, and music clinics for the kids. Among the elective sessions, some which are available for seminary credit, including “Discipleship Counseling: Resolving Personal and Spiritual Conflicts on the Personal and Corporate Level,” a three-day class taught by Dr. Neil Anderson, noted author and conference speaker;
“Marriage and Family Counseling,” a five-day class led by Dr. Tom Edgington; “Worship and the Four-Fold Pattern,” taught by Jim Bullard; “Prayer and Counseling,” a popular class led by Dr. Tammy Schultz just for women who want to help others (and back by popular demand); “Postmodern” Culture, learn how the church can best minister to the next generation; and classes on the books of Romans, Revelation, Daniel, and Ezekiel.
Equip07 kicks off Sunday with the Association of Grace Brethren Ministers meeting followed by the annual business meeting of the FGBC at 7:00 p.m., and ends on Friday when classes conclude. Each day will begin with breakfast and a devotional. Throughout the week there will be time the cooperating organizations to host open houses, hold corporation meetings, and other events. The moderator’s address by pastor Jim Brown of Goshen, Ind., will be Wednesday evening.
