Ron Boehm, Grace Brethren pastor and church-planter coach with VisionOhio, continues to recover in a Cleveland hospital after surgery on Thursday night to repair an abdominal aneurysm and a second surgery yesterday to stop bleeding. He also fell and hit his head after passing out, causing a skull fracture.
His daughter, Megan Kunkler, reports this morning that he went through the night well.
“Today will be allowing him to come out of sedation gradually to see how his brain function is and where the next step needs to be. Praying that he comes through this with all of his mind and faculties in tact!” she noted on Facebook.
Her report late last night: “We just got home for the night. Dad is doing well. Still in SICU and under sedation, but BP is good and he is not taking in any extra blood products, which means he is not bleeding (much) internally and the blood clotting drug is working (praise Jesus!). He had a second surgery today because there was internal bleeding; they sewed up what they could but couldn’t stop all the bleeding, so they gave him a ‘last resort’ drug to help his body clot. It seems to be working (praise Jesus!!) and he is stable and resting now. Praying for an uneventful night of rest; mom went home to sleep, too. We have a long road ahead, but we are hopeful to be ‘over the hump’ at this point. Thank you so much for interceding for us!!!”
